So simple and your friends and children will love them

225g butter, softened
300g caster sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tablespoons orange zest
2 tablespoons treacle
375g plain flour

1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt

Serves: 60
Start with creaming the butter and the sugar together. Then you should put the egg in and mix well. For added flavour add in orange zest and treacle. Add the flour, bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon, ginger, ground cloves and salt, mixing until well combined.
Chill dough for at least 2 hours, I like to chill overnight.
Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas mark
5. Grease baking trays. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out to .5cm thick. Cut into desired shapes using biscuit cutters. Place biscuits 2 to 3cm apart on the prepared baking trays.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until cookies are firm and lightly toasted on the edges.

Now you have your perfect gingerbread men biscuits turn upside down and decorate into Reindeers as per the image below.

We use gel icing pens for decorations and you can purchase them online, here is a link, just
remember to warm them up before you use them
Merry Christmas
